The Christians of Mosul

Hat tip CBN News and Revoltes en Europe

The below video from CBN News was cross-posted from the French blog, Revoltes en Europe. It is a CBN video report on the situation for Christians in and around Mosul, Iraq. Upon the takeover by ISIS, Christians have been left with stark choices. If they open their churches, they will be burned. They are forced to pay the jizya tax required of non-Muslims under sharia law. If they refuse to pay, they will be decapitated.

Are you trying to convince us that ISIS is bad news? Do you think anyone reading this isn't already quite certain of that?

No need to worry, the Presbyterian church has the answer to the problem of religious persecution in the Middle East: divesting from American companies that do business with the only Middle Eastern country where Christians are protected and thriving. That will solve the problem of religious persecution in the Middle East.

Max,

Really makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? At a time when Israel's neighbors are hunting down the Christians, the Presbyterian Church passes a divestment measure against Israel.

The divestment measure was rather stupid, but I haven't been a Presbyterian for many years, so I didn't get to vote on it. To give credit where credit is due, the resolution was specific to companies that made equipment used in building The Wall, and or in illegally knocking down private homes in the West Bank. It was not a vote to divest from any company doing business with Israel. Incidentally, the PA is not hunting down Christians -- Dr. George Habash was an Orthodox Christian.
