Another Obama Policy Collapse-Our Southern Border

If President Obama's Middle East policy is in shatters, our southern border is no better. As if our border wasn't broken before, now we are faced with an epic humanitarian disaster. Tens of thousands of Central American families are showing up on our doorsteps, in many cases, just children. By the thousands, our Border Patrol is simply putting them on buses to places like Arizona, where they are being housed in shelters. It is being left to private organizations, charities and churches to care for these families and unaccompanied children. Since they are Central Americans, we can't simply throw them back across the border into Mexico. Do you really think Mexico will care for them?

This is the result of the policies of Obama and the Democrats, who favor open borders and amnesty. The word is out in Central America: Get here any way you can. The children will not be deported. Basically, they are all claiming the same reason- fleeing the murderous drug cartels. And guess what. In a few months, if not weeks, these tens of thousands on non-English speaking children will start entering our schools.

And still the Democrats will not secure the border. Still they demand amnesty.

It is not that I don't feel for these Central American families. My wife and I are currently supporting a Guatemalan child through a Christian charity. It is heart-rendering to be sure. However, we cannot simply be a dumping ground any longer for countries that are either poor, corrupt, dysfunctional, or all of the above. Either we are a sovereign country that can control its borders or we are not.

And, of course, here comes Hillary Clinton, who will be on center stage for the next two years as she prepares to run for president. She blames the defeat of Eric Kantor in the Republican primary in Virginia on the Republicans' "anti-immigrant" stance. How shallow is that? It is not about immigration. It is about illegal immigration. (It is also about allowing certain folks into this country who wish to do us harm.) How is it that people like Clinton, Harry Reid, and the far-left can keep getting away with saying that Republicans, the tea-party and conservatives are anti-immigrant? It is patently dishonest.

It is hardly anti-immigrant or racist to say what is obvious: We need to get control of our borders.

I've got it Gary. We need machine guns every twenty yards, and MOW THOSE KIDS DOWN as the run across the border! That will secure our borders!

Or, maybe we should put the word out that only children brought here BY THEIR PARENTS who were under the age of five are eligible, all others will be put on a slow freighter back to their country of origin? And we know why parents haven't been coming. There aren't any jobs to be had.

Yes, strange rumors circulate. We should bend our policies to react to whatever rumor hits the mill?

Siarlys,

I don't think the tone of my post was anything close to what your comment suggests.

You're a broken record Gary. You want to "control our borders" and you want top "stop those children coming in" but you don't specify what concrete acts you want to take. From what I've read, the Border Patrol is rounding them up, and will be sending them back to their countries of origin.
