State Department Not Sure if They Got Letter re Sudanese Woman

As people of conscience (first time I ever used that term)  plead for the release of a pregnant Sudanese Christian woman (married to an American) who is awaiting execution for the "crime" of apostasy-even though she was never a Muslim-our poor befuddled State Department is apparently hiding from the mailman.

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/05/20/state-dept-not-sure-it-got-senate-letter-sent-four-days-ago-pleading-for-sudanese-christian/

Note to Jen Psaki: I think the letter has arrived. It doesn't take 4 days for a letter to get from Capitol Hill to Foggy Bottom.

Speaking of "people of conscience", I have yet to see any demonstrations on any US college campuses on behalf of this woman. They are too busy organizing protests and boycott resolutions against Israel, you know.

It should have been sent by email or fax. If it was sent by mail, most mail to any government address in Washington, D.C. spend six weeks going through a backed up inspection and decontamination process. (Haven't you ever written to your congress rep Gary? Their web sites always advise email over letters, for this very reason).

Of course there is no reason the State Department needs to wait for a letter from some senators to have an idea what is going on, and considering what to do about it.

So that's why they take 6 months to answer. I will pass this along to Squid. he's always writing letters to Dianne Feinstein and getting answers 6 months later. She doesn't even know what he was writing about. maybe the screeners had to wipe off the contents to check for anthrax.

Yup. Squid should send her email. I thought everyone who writes letters to congress knew that.

Although if I were in congress, or the senate to be more precise, I wouldn't give Squid's letters much priority. Maybe have staff prepared a bi-monthly letter to him.

Dear Constituent Squid:

I am happy to have received your 245 letters over the past 60 days advising me to change course on 78 different topics of concern. Unfortunately, most of your suggestions run directly contrary to promises I made the voters when I last ran for office. Thank you for writing.

Siarlys,

Chris Stevens sent emails to Hillary Clinton. She says she never saw them.

Well, why don't you publish the complete set of emails correspondence, rather than making vague allusions?

I've read in some of the voluminous press coverage of this subject that Stevens DECLINED additional security for Benghazi. He was known for his ability and habit of walking the street conversing in fluent Arabic.

Siarlys,

You mean Stevens refused extra security before or after he asked for it? What about the other officials in Benghazi who asked for it? Which requests for extra security were the ones Hillary Clinton testified never reached her desk-even though they were addressed to her?

Give me a list of emails Gary, in chronological order, and we could start to make sense of what they mean.

Oh, wait, you don't have the text of the emails, do you? You're just repeating on a blog what someone said on another blog you trust, which they copied from a blog they trust, which...

I have a better idea, Siarlys. You dig up the e-emails in chronological order. I'm too busy.
