Obama Back in LA For Fund Raisers: Traffic Snarled
As I write this, President Obama has just landed at LAX during rush hour. From there, he is proceeding by helicopter to Century City, from where his motorcade will proceed to Bel Air for -you guessed it-another fund raiser.
How many times a year does Obama come out here for fund raisers?
The news is reporting that Wilshire Blvd west of Beverly Glen is closed. Everything on the West Side is a mess-as always.
Thanks a lot, Mr President. (Actually, I am in Orange County, so I don't care.)
The Bel Air fund raiser is at the home of some movie mogul. Dinner cost? $32,000 a plate.
So the big wigs of Hollywood get to hob nob and get face time with the President, he gets the money, and the residents of LA get another massive traffic jam.

I saw one of those motorcades in D.C. recently and it is hard to describe the chaos and shutdown it causes... not only on the route but every intersection along the route is clocked for 5 to 10 minutes before the motorcade is supposed to pass. That is not to mention all the motorcycle cops, SUVs, and vans in the motorcade. Nobody stood by to cheer the President (of Vice President, if he was in the motorcade) the people in the cars just cursed at the waste of time.
That was in Washington, where they should be used to it by now. I can imagine what the L.A. commuters thought.
Miggie,
See my updated picture for this post.
Like I said last time you ran a silly rant like this: We obviously need to establish by constitutional amendment that once a president takes the oath of office, he and his entire family are confined to the White House grounds for the duration of his service as president, period. Ergo, no need for massive security, no traffic jams, no appearance at fundraisers, no private vacations, maybe an occasional state visit, if any other country wants to endure the traffic jams.
That also applies to the next Republican elected president.
Are we happy now?
