Court Date: A Reminder to CAIR et al

Hat tip to Chris

According to the San Diego court docket, Kassim Alhimidi is finally scheduled to go on trial today for the beating death of his wife, Shaima Alawadi in March 2012.

Here is the info from the San Diego County Court Bulletin:

Suspect: Kassim Alhimidi
Charge: Murder
DOB: 06/02/1964
Court No.: CE325289
Prosecutor: Kurt Mechals
Defense: Richard Berkon, Jr.
Synopsis: The defendant is charged with homicide in the beating death of his wife.
Custody Status: In custody
Next Court Date: Further Proceedings, Mar 25 2014 9:00AM, Department 9, San Diego Superior Court, Central Division, County Courthouse

In case you have forgotten, the discovery of Shaima's body in the couple's home caused a nationwide furor because the family blamed it on an unidentified Islamophobe  who had broken into their home and disappeared. Remember the "hijab and hoodie" protests coupled with the death of Trayvon Martin? That all went away when Alhimidi was charged with the murder. No doubt a lot of folks would prefer that this whole thing just go away and disappear from the public consciousness. But it won't because some people do care about justice for Shaima.
