"Useless Discourse" at University of Virginia

Hat tip Campus Reform

I first heard the term "useless discourse" when a group from Jewish Voice for Peace came to speak at UC Irvine and used the term to refer to supporters of Israel. Now comes some guy from a global warming student group at the University of Virginia who says GW skeptics shouldn't be allowed to speak at UVA.

"Allowing individuals like Valentine to speak on Grounds — and then defending it by arguing that you allow individuals from all spectrums to come speak — is misguided."

This rather cavalier attitude (pun intended) is downright arrogant. It is typical of the left that they attempt to shut down opposing voices.

In any debate, look to the side that attempts to stifle opposing viewpoints. That will give you a strong indication as to which side is right.

Cavaliers are not leftists -- and neither are students at elite universities. Just as doctors are sometimes accused of thinking they are God, these students just think they are leftists.

The way to deal with climate change deniers is to give them a big forum and ask them obvious questions that they are incompetent to answer.
