Obama in San Joaquin Valley

In case you have not noticed President Obama is in California today-this time in an unfamiliar place. He is visiting Central California's San Joaquin Valley, which is supposed to be  the bread basket of America. Things have not been so good in recent years for the farmers of the San Joaquin Valley. They are currently undergoing a severe drought. Naturally, Obama is linking that to global warming, climate change or whatever he cares to call it. (I guess it's climate change if you are back East and global warming if you are in California.)

Of course, among all the handouts and the $1 billion "Climate Resilience Fund", which will be a pork barrel of corruption, don't expect the president to do anything to change the federal regulations that since 2007 have caused the San Joaquin Valley to be cut off from water flowing from the Sacramento region, water that was diverted due to environmentalists' concerns about a small bait fish called the Delta Smelt.

Hopefully, some brave soul will ask the president about that.

Uh... yeah...

Most people in the Sacramento Valley resented diversions to the San Joaquin, which was robbing their valley of all kinds of features.

Face it, there are simply too many people in California. It was never endowed to support such large populations. Somebody has to move back to Utah, Iowa, Ohio...
