If you don't know who the North American Islamic Trust is, you should. They hold the deeds for many of the mosques that are sprouting up around America. They are part of the alphabet soup of Islamic organizations in the US with questionable ties to overseas outfits like the Muslim Brotherhood. Now we learn that they get farm subsidies from Uncle Sam.

It's the American Way. I remember National Lampoon features about congressmen who got agricultural payments not to grow cotton on their paved tennis court... and that was based on real incidents also. Aren't you glad the Muslims are becoming acculturated?
I do worry about trusts holding title to such large institutions... just like I worry about Pentecostal real estate empires. States used to have laws limiting houses of worship to rather small valuation of real estate, the better to keep them focused on spiritual matters, not becoming political or economic powerhouses or dominating the skyline.
Unfortunately, that was thrown out by a federal district judge, responding to a lawsuit filed by the late Jerry Falwell, sometimes nicknamed "Falwell v. Jefferson." The attorney general of Virginia never appealed it.
