Five days ago, Fox News correspondent Catherine Herridge reported on the suspicious role of retired CIA official Mike Morell in the administration's false initial reports of the Benghazi attack being a protest gone awry.

In this latest report from Herridge, Morell's previous testimony about the White House talking points is now being called into question.

"Among other discrepancies, Republicans on the Senate Intelligence Committee allege Morell insisted the talking points were sent to the White House for informational purposes, and not for their input -- but emails, later released by the administration, showed otherwise. "
Without prejudging Mr Morell's role in the Benghazi controversy, there is an observation, which I believe was once made by Oliver North a few years after the Iran-Contra scandal. As I recall, North told a questioner that when military people go to work for political people, they must use caution lest their professional principles and ethics be compromised. (I am paraphrasing what I recall to be the essence of North's comments.)
If that is an accurate paraphrase, it also applies to law enforcement and intelligence people as well. I am wondering if Morell, who was just below the director at CIA at the time, found himself caught up in a political compromise with the people at the White House. I am simply speculating, but I await the outcome of this latest development.
