Mohamed Rateb Alnabulsi Opines on Gays

Hat tip MEMRI TV

This past Saturday, a Syrian sheikh by the name of Mohamed Rateb Alnabulsi spoke at the Hilton Hotel in Irvine. He was partially sponsored by the Syrian American Council. The stated purpose of this appearance was to support the Syrian people in this time of civil war. Naturally, it was a fund raiser.

Alnabulsi is being promoted as some sort of human rights activist. Here is a sampling of his "human rights" as he speaks to a group of admirers on the topic of homosexuality. The talk is in Arabic with English sub-titles. The most notable statement is when he tells his audience that the penalty for homosexuality is death.

I wish I could say that Alnabulsi's appearance Saturday in Irvine was protested by gay groups. It wasn't. It wasn't protested by anybody. I wonder if any of the major gay rights organizations were even aware of this man's US speaking tour. Saturday night was his final appearance.

How is it that a man like this gets a US visa, comes to America, and tours the nation giving speeches while no gay organization shows up to protest? Alnabulsi is also on record saying that Israeli Jews are legitimate targets for martyrdom operations and that they are "the worst enemies of God".

I wish I could say that some Jewish groups were out in front of the hotel Saturday night protesting. There weren't. Stand With Us did, in fact, write a letter to the Hilton Hotel giving them information on Alnabulsi's past statements as did I. (Neither of us asked the hotel to cancel the event.) I have received no response from the Irvine Hilton''s general manager.

Anyway, for what it is worth, you can view the video for yourself and see what kind of human rights activist this man is.
