Kudos to Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) for holding hearings today on the subject of persecution of Christians around the world.

How nice it would be if our president and secretary of state would speak out forcefully and publicly about this issue. The State Department has a (open) position for this issue of religious freedom. Why hasn't he filled it?
