My friend and colleague, Roberta Seid of Stand With Us has an op-ed in the LA Jewish Journal regarding Omar Barghouti's speaking appearance this week at UCLA. I have added my comment in the reader thread and cross-posted it here.

As Seid points out, Barghouti is a classic hypocrite for advocating a boycott of Israel after he obtained his masters degree at Tel Aviv University. This is a ticklish point for Barghouti everywhere he goes for obvious reasons, and he has struggled to give a satisfactory answer. Previously, this man, who reportedly was born in Qatar and grew up in Egypt, would refuse to answer saying his studies were a personal matter. In February 2012, he spoke at UC Irvine, and when I asked him about where he was born and grew up, he refused to answer saying it was irrelevant. Then this week at UC Riverside, when I pointed out in the q and a that he was not an Israeli but was a hypocrite for attending an Israeli university and calling for an academic boycott of Israel, he introduced a new comeback. He said that as a Palestinian, he chose to study "at home".
That raises the question of whether Omar Barghouti, aside from being a colossal hypocrite and ingrate is also a liar.
