The Knockout Game: "It's a Myth"

So says LA Times columnist Robin Abcarian. It's all been made up by conservative media. Never mind the videos. Never mind the stories of the victims. Never mind the police reports. Never mind that rap mogul Russell Simmons has made a taped statement condemning it. Never mind that even Al Sharpton has made a taped statement condemning it. It's a myth. An urban myth. Don't take my word for it; it's all right here in black and white on the pages of the LA Times.

Where to begin?

I heard about this today on Larry Elder's radio show while driving home. Larry is an LA-based conservative black talk show host. He is scheduled to have Ms. Abcarian on his show tomorrow. I hope to catch it.

* Update: Meanwhile, in today's Orange County Register, columnist Joseph Perkins, who is also black, has a more sober take on the issue.

Some myth. People have died. Some are permanently maimed. And the Black community is blaming the Jews.

But it is just a myth.

I was just wondering how and when assault and battery, probably aggravated assault, and some form of homicide magically became mere "mischief".
