MEMRI TV produced this video of a 2007 Saudi TV discussion show on the question of what should happen to Muslims who leave the religion. You will note that one of the Islamic scholars took the view that it was a personal matter between the individual and Allah, and that nothing should happen to them. It seems he was outnumbered.
