My site meter tells me I had a visit today from the Office of the President at UC Santa Cruz (America's Wackiest University). For the benefit of you UCSC Community Studies and History of Consciousness majors, the posting that was viewed is:

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2011/05/campus-watcxh-discusses-anti-semitism.html

(Everyone else would have clicked the above entry or exit page by now.)

Too bad it took them two years to find the article.

But here is an interesting feature about my site meter I had never noticed heretofore. The search words. Whoever visited my site apparently had punched in the search words, "ucsc anti muslim teacher". I tested it and came right up with my blog posting.

If they are referring to Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, a UCSC professor who is mentioned prominently in the link, I would take issue with that characterization. Complaining about anti-Semitism does not an anti-Muslim make. Perhaps a more appropriate search would have included the words, "UCSC anti-Semitism".

Visit length is "zero seconds".

Hardly a "visit". More like a "wrong number".

Gary,

Will you please show me how to do that neat thing where you identify who has been visiting your site? Enquiring minds want to know.

Dusty,

Mine is called site meter, which is at the bottom of the screen. There are others you can add to your blog at no cost. It tells you the time and location and server the hit came from. Not by name, mind you, but if the computer is at say, DOJ or UCLA, it will tell you.

Thanks. I'll check it out.
