Alan Grayson is Back Being a Jerk

Alan Grayson (D-FL) was selected as the 2009 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year.  To this day it is his greatest accomplishment. Since then, he has been defeated and re-elected back into Congress. He is still a colossal jerk as evidenced by his latest comparison of the Tea Party to the Ku Klux Klan.

Once again, I point out that of all the Tea Party events that have been held over the years around the country, none have resulted in violence, vandalism, racist speech, arrests, or even leaving trash behind-quite in contrast to the Occupy movement, which Democrats like Grayson love. Even those who think Obama was born in Kenya or is a Muslim (which I don't believe) are not racists just for holding those ideas. The Tea Party began as a movement against the rising taxes and increasing government control over our lives. It is also began as a reaction against certain Republican office-holders who were betraying the causes they were elected to defend.

For Alan Grayson to make these charges is irresponsible and could result in violence against people identified with the Tea Party movement. But that is what he does, just like his pal Al Sharpton.

That's why he was Jerk of the Year in 2009.

As I have previously noted, during at least the second Bush campaign, and I believe the first one also but am not absolutely sure, a photo/poster regularly made the rounds showing Bush with crosshairs on his head and a bleeding bullet wound in his forehead. The message is clear.
Sure wasn't put out by conservatives.

In contrast, while I may have missed something, the worst I can remember relative to Obama was him in "whiteface", an obvious caricature of Jack Nicholson, I believe, as "The Joker" in "Batman". Hardly comparable in tone or content. Non-violent.

The Tea Party, whatever its faults, is not the Ku Klux Klan. The Tea Party does not hide behind white sheets and hoods, and whatever its faults, has not engaged in a systematic campaign of murder and intimidation against its perceived enemies. Grayson strikes me as a singularly unimaginative person who can't be bothered to examine facts and offer original thought -- only to recite trite stereotypes. There is little excuse for electing such a man to office, except that his Republican opponent was likely far worse. We ought to be able to do better.

elwood... I never say that poster, and I've been a diligent observer of satire about GWB. Could you provide more detail on where and how this image was distributed? Maybe there was some nut in your neighborhood who thought it was funny. The closest I've seen was the web site where you could try to time the throwing of a shoe at GWB, and score points for a direct hit.
