Our Letter to Senator Boxer

I have joined with three of my colleagues to e-mail the following letter to Senator Barbara Boxer's congressional website.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Senator Boxer,

We are writing to you in an effort to raise awareness about a crippling disease many Americans have never heard of and ask you to take up the cause in the fight to find a cure.

Manogivus is a crippling disease that affects the hands and causes uncontrollable and involuntary shaking and twitching. It is rare, but can hit people of all ages though mostly it hits during the younger years. Once afflicted, there is no known cure.

At this time, important research on manogivus is being conducted at the South Central Louisiana Institute of Technology by Dr. John E. Otis. However, the project depends entirely on private donations and funds are critically short.

That is why we turn to you and other like-minded public officials. With the Affordable Care Act set to begin, it is critical that funding to find a cure for manogivus be set aside. We ask for your support.

Thank you for your attention.

For those of you who have been frustrated in your attempts to get Senator Boxer's attention, I will report back when I get an answer.

(If you are wondering who the others are, they are doctor, lawyer, and Indian chief respectively.)

Dr John E. Otis

Sorry Gary, haven't you heard of the sequester? No funding is available for any new projects.

Boxer is easy to get her attention. Try my Senator, Dick Durban. Impossible to get Dickey's attention any time.

Findalis, any senator who took time to talk to you deserves what they have to put up with. There are constituents with real problems and concerns waiting to talk to them.
