Obama vs Putin

As if President Obama has not made himself look enough like a hapless fool, now he plans to plead with Vladimir Putin to change his mind about Syria when he meets him in St Petersburg. Can you say Chamberlain meets Hitler?

Somebody should remind the community organizer that he is dealing with a tough  former KGB officer who is not about to cave in to a president who has lost all credibility around the world.

"I didn't set a red line, the world set a red line," he said. "The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of world population said the use of chemical weapons are abhorrent." He added that Congress set its own red line when it ratified the treaty."

Sorry, Mr President, but it was you who made the statement about the red line and the game changer. Assad called your bluff. And what world are you talking about? You are not talking about the UN. You are not talking about NATO. You are not talking about Great Britain. You are not talking about the Arab League. None of them are sending troops. The only other entity that is willing to join you is France.  Congress we don't yet know about. Even John McCain isn't buying off on what you have in mind.

Don't forget to take your umbrella, Mr President. They say St Petersburg is drizzly this time of year.

Last I read, he'd declined to meet with Putin. Something about Edward Snowden.
