Meanwhile in Pakistan-War on Ahmadis Goes on

Hat tip Jihad Watch

In peace-loving Pakistan, the majority Sunnis seem to still have problems with the Ahmadi Muslims, who believe in a later prophet after Mohammad.

The Ahmadis do seem to stay away from all the violence you find elsewhere within Islam, but they do ascribe to the same basics. Yet it is actually illegal in Pakistan for them to label themselves Muslims.

Go figure.

How long will it be before they start bombing the mosques of the "other."

I see in the paper now that the Syrian rebels are now fighting each other as well as Assad. It is a big Sunni/Shia battle coming there for the ROP.

Maggie,

Great. Should we arm the Sunnis or alawites?

We should have intelligence on the ground there both before and even now that figures out who are truly democratic and not hostile to the U.S.

Once we have identified them, if they exist and you can make this determination, they should be the ones who are armed and supported. If none of them are democratic or hostile to us, then we should let Allah sort it all out, as one of our candidates said.

There is always an argument about who is worse for the U.S., the Shia or the Sunni. It seems they, like Russia, want a "strong leader" and they value that more than liberty, freedom, or democracy.
