In Erlangen

I arrived in Erlangen yesterday by train from Passau. I am staying at Gasthof Koenig Humbert, a traditional old hotel that goes back to 1899 under the same family ownership. Last night, I dined at a nice Greek place that used to be the town's most notorious GI bar. Ah the memories. Today I will be having lunch with ex mayor Dietmar Hahlweg. Wednesday evening, I will have Sukkah dinner with the local Jewish community. Will also get together with some members of the local VFW chapter.

Hauptstrasse

Obviously, posting will be lighter this week. I woke up to the news of the massacre in Washington.
I guess there is still much to learned about this.

As for Passau, I will be posting some interesting pictures and updating this story about Hitler falling into the Inn River when he was a toddler in Passau. I also learned that the family lived at another address in Passau which was right acros the street from the address where Heinrich Himmler also lived as a boy (a few years later).
