Zimmerman Fallout

I had hoped that my recent post about the Zimmerman trial verdict might be the last I would write about this matter. Alas, it is simply not possible. I had also hoped that there would be no ugly backlash from those that wanted a conviction. I guess for the most part, the demonstrations have been lawful and peaceful with the notable exception of Oakland, where vandalism and destruction occurred.  As I write this, a large march in central Los Angeles is turning ugly.*

*Update: Here is this morning's report on last night's events in LA:

Unfortunately, the agitators, anarchists, and race baiters in our society are not going to walk away quietly into the night. I speak mostly of people like Al Sharpton, who is being interviewed all over the media-oblivious to his past history with Tawana Brawley and the Crown Hts riots. Not only he, but the once-noble NAACP, the never noble CAIR, the Muslim Public Affairs Council and others are demanding that the Justice Department file civil rights charges against Zimmerman, as if one politically-driven trial wasn't enough. Never mind that the FBI, while doing a parallel investigation of Zimmerman that was suspended when Florida filed state charges for 2nd degree murder, could not find any indication of racism on Zimmerman's part. We even have NFL players like Victor Cruz tweeting out to his legion of fans that "the hood" will track Zimmerman down. Other celebrities are making similar irresponsible statements.

Eric Holder predictably has made public statements just in the past couple of days that indicate he intends to examine the matter very closely-very closely indeed.

And now this bit of news out of Mississippi for what it is worth.

I will treat this report with caution until more details come out.

Of course, it is hardly surprising that the unindicted co-conspirators at CAIR would be jumping on this bandwagon as well as other groups like MPAC. They have a vested interest in dividing non-whites from whites in our society. It is part of what they do. They build coalitions between various minorities all aligned against mainstream white society.

"We all have to stand together you know. Those big white boogeymen like George Zimmerman area out to get all of us."

Never mind that George Zimmerman is hardly white. Never mind that whites are hardly the enemy of non-whites.

Of course, CAIR never stands with minorities in the countries from which they come, places like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and on and on, where non-Muslim minorities are really persecuted.  CAIR et al won't talk about that. I know. I've gone to their events and tried to get them to talk about those things. I've experienced the evasions and obfuscations first-hand.

But I digress. Eric Holder is on the job. He and his deputies in the corrupt Civil Rights division (under Thomas Perez) could care less about the rights of George Zimmerman. They could care less whether a group of thugs assaulted a white jogger in Mississippi in retaliation for the Martin verdict. They could care less whether the state prosecution was politically-motivated because they participated in the process. They could care less whether Zimmerman was granted a fair trial or not. He wasn't  because in the final analysis, only the 6 jurors provided justice. The State of Florida did not. Angela Corey did not. The team of prosecutors did not; they conducted a trial that was a disgrace-void of evidence but full of appeals to emotion fully intended to sway the female jurors. Finally, the judge, Debra Nelson did not provide justice. She should have tossed the case as soon as the prosecution rested. She didn't have the courage to do it. Finally, she refused to address the question of whether the state had withheld important evidence that could have helped the defense (the Martin cell phone contents). She brushed it aside and stomped out tof the court leaving a frustrated defense team appealing for her to listen.

But Holder and his thugs-yes thugs- in the DOJ (where I once worked with pride) are not interested in that. They want Zimmerman's blood. They want his blood because at heart, Holder, Perez and the rest are no different from Sharpton, the NAACP, CAIR or the thugs who went amok in Oakland. They are ideologues, pure and simple, who have bent justice to their own desires.

I said before that Holder and his boss, the President could have provided a great public service by putting an end to this matter once and for all. They may still. My guess is, however, that they will press on and indict Zimmerman for some racial motivation that nobody has yet to uncover. It is not right. It is not just. We have already seen Zimmerman prosecuted once in a case bereft of evidence due to marches, speeches, petitions and public pressure. And the very same process is starting all over again.

America already has one political prisoner. That is the man who produced that Mohammed video. If the Department of Justice gets Zimmerman's scalp, they will have two. This is not the kind of justice I learned over a 25-year career in federal law enforcement.

Holder and Obama are race obsessed. They interject it into as many issues as they can and ALWAYS on one side. It is like Reverent Wright and his Black Liberation Theology is a cabinet level adviser.

They think of the U.S. now as if it was Mississippi in 1955. It is just not true ... however they are whipping up the same animosity over race that largely disappeared in the last 50+ years.

Obama is not president over all the people and Eric Holder's Justice Dept is anything but just.

They are willing to let our foreign policy deteriorate and our economy fail so they can at last "even the score."

Sharpton/Jackson, et al, wanted a special prosecutor, and they got one. They wanted an indictment, and they got one. They wanted a trial, and they got one.

Then, somehow, they got a verdict that they did not want, and apparently (SURPRISE!!!)did not expect. Now they are whining and agitating and moaning about it.

In an effort to inject race into this, I have seen/heard several libs refer to Zimmerman as a "white Hispanic" (whatever that is). Would not that make Obama a "white black"?? Just curious.
