Hat tip Gallia Watch
Yet the ministers and the assistant prefect on the scene denied in unison any rock-throwing at the rescuers or thefts of victims. On television, minister of Transportation Frédéric Cuvillier declared he had no knowledge of "stripped victims", acknowledging only "isolated acts" and "firemen who were greeted a bit rudely as they arrived in small groups." The assistant prefect of Estampes, Ghyslain Chatel, denied that the rescuers had been the target of projectiles, except for "one truckload of firemen who may have been targeted, but not hit."
Here is today's update from Gallia Watch on that derailment of a French train last week. Six are dead and there are signs that the rail was sabotaged. Yet, Socialist government leaders are denying reports from the police themselves that they were met by rock-throwing from people who were looting the train and bodies.
