White House Confirms Visit by Controversial Islamic Leader

"The administration official confirmed Bin Bayyah met with Senior Director for Development and Democracy Gayle Smith and other members of the National Security Council staff. But the official said they were there to discuss poverty, global health efforts and Bin Bayyah's own efforts to speak out against Al Qaeda."

This shaping up as a job for Jay Carney. How do you justify a White Visit with National Security Council officials by a guy who is vice president of a group that called on Muslims to fight the American troops in Iraq-among other things? Well they sure are trying.

Yesterday, the Investigative Project on Terrorism and Fox News reporting that Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah had visited the White House. At least the WH didn't deny it this time, but their excuse for such a meeting is pathetic.

This to me is akin to FDR inviting the head of the German American Bund (who were Nazi supporters) to the White House in 1944 to discuss the plight of German farmers.

Sounds more like meeting with the guys who tried to blow up Hitler in 1944... although the Allies never did meet with them.
