Update on One New Heart Patient

A few days ago, I posted a report from One New Heart on the treatment of a Palestinian boy from the West Bank, Rikardo Qumseyeh.

Today we have an update. Rikardo is home and feeling great.

Rikardo Qumseyeh is back home again, and is in fantastic condition. It's hard to tell that he was in the hospital having an operation just two days ago (his parents have to keep reminding him that he's not supposed to ...jump around too much until he's healed a bit more!). It's tremendous to see the change in him from just a few days before.

Rikardo's parents look outstanding. They are clearly relieved to have had the operation go well. It was unclear until the surgeons had started the procedure how complicated it would be, and fortunately it proved to be technically less difficult than his doctors had feared, although his condition was nevertheless extremely dangerous (he recorded heart rates of over three hundred beats per minutes on some tests before his operation).
