Something Rotten in Denmark-Justice

Hat tip Gates of Vienna

Here is a case out of Denmark that should make all you liberal hearts flutter.

Somali immigrant Ahmed Omar Mohammed  (not a Danish citizen) commits child rape, is convicted, sentenced to 6 years, but will not be deported once he serves his sentence. Reason? He is well-integrated and has nothing to return to in Somalia.

Gates of Vienna has the story.

Danish justice is, indeed, a joke.

A lot of things can change in six years.

Denmark is no longer Denmark. People will be telling their children about the time when they were Danes. The children will ask when they lost control of their country and they won't be able to answer.

I wonder if the Little mermaid is still there.

Siarlys,

Like what, for example?

Gary, I deliberately offered a statement that can be taken many different ways. Congratulations on asking a question instead of taking the bait.

On one end of possible outcomes, the law could change in the next six years to require that he be deported.

Or, he could commit another crime in prison that provides an opportunity to enhance his sentence by twenty years, then deport him.

Looking down the other end of the telescope, he could come out of prison the kind of truly reformed person anyone would be proud to have as a neighbor.

For child molestation though, that's not so likely. Theft, yes, murder, maybe, sexual crimes are often driven by chemistry the individual can't control, in which case, they just have to be isolated from potential victims indefinitely. A society with fewer resources would have to kill them, not as punishment, but simple prevention.
