So You Want to Send Troops to Syria ? (Ch 2)
This will probably be one of those recurring threads on Fousesquawk. Fox News has a video (graphic) that purportedly shows Syrian rebels executing captured loyalists to the Assad regime. I am unable to pull up the YouTube video, but perhaps you can. Note: Click the line that says don't show the warning again-then continue.
Think deeply before you decide to send US troops into this hell-hole. In my view, it isn't worth one American life.

You may be right.
No matter how heart-rending the stories, a real caution is, would be actually make the situation any better if we intervened? Recent history suggests that events do not follow the hopeful script.
Siarlys,
Hmmm. Lets see, what can we use for a precedent...... I got it! Libya!
I was thinking of Iraq. Libya might have turned out better if we had been a bit more engaged. But we did it on the cheap. There will be no way to do Syria on the cheap. At this point, it will take the intensity of occupation required to turn Nazi Germany into the peaceful nation you loved so well when you were stationed there.
Possibly if we had weighed in earlier, in support of a genuine popular uprising, before the jihadists sensed their opportunity and came to the fore as the ones with military training and weapons, we could have had a better outcome.
But all the kings horses and all the kings men can't put humpty dumpty together again.
