Another casualty of the civil war in Syria is that country's ancient Assyrian population, who fear increased persecution and death. Many are fleeing the country, and one community in Sweden is receiving many of them. Assyrians generally belong to a variety of Christian denominations.

Last I read, people of every persuasion are afraid of dying in Syria and, if they can, fleeing to Turkey.
