Texas A & M's LGBTQ Resource Center

    Hat tip Campus Reform

Proposed design for LGBTQ Resource Center at Texas A&M University showing staff parking lot

"Daddy, what does 'LGBTQ'
mean?"

In my humble view, it is ridiculous enough that a university has to have a "resource center" for anything concerning  sexual orientation, whether it be hetero-homo-bi-tri or fill-in-the-blank sexual. That students have to help fund it through their tuition is just plain absurd-and wrong.

R. Bowen Loftin

"A&M’s President, R. Bowen Loftin, for example, sent a statement to Campus Reform on Friday arguing that even the discourse surrounding the bill had “negatively affected” the school’s image and hurt the school’s value of respect."

It's called free speech, El Presidente.

Homophobic? Hardly. This is homophobic:

Allow me to be clear; I have no moral objections to gays, bi-sexuals, or whatever as long as we are talking about consenting adults. I still cling to that old fashioned, out-dated idea that a person's sexuality should be private-and that includes guys bragging about their sexual conquests. I just don't think it is the function of a university to "celebrate" any form of sexuality (including my own)  and force students and their families to pay for said celebration.

But what the Hell do I know? I'm just a broken-down old DEA agent.

Even broken down old DEA agents are right twice a day. This is one of those times.
