If there is anyone who should be executed, it is those who kill over apostasy, no matter what their faith.
It won't be a deterent, because they generally expect to wake up in Paradise, and it won't be justice, but it will make the world a safer place.
Many who commit murder can be reasoned with, but the fanatic cannot.
