The blogosphere is burning up over the case of a high school student in Ft Worth being suspended because he told another student in class that he thought homosexuality was wrong. Below is a report by Reuters.

On the face of it, this appears to be outrageous. The student was reportedly overheard saying it to another student in his German class.
Personally, as one who has evolved a lot on this issue, I don't even believe homosexuality is right or wrong. Whatever religious convictions I have have nothing to do with the fact that I disagree with gay marriage. A certain percentage of people are gay and that is it. However, to punish a student for making such a statement is flat out wrong.
Is this what you gay rights advocates want to see? I don't think so.
Yet, there may be more to this story (Hat tip Dallas Voice).

I would never condone students giving a hard time to a teacher they thought was gay. The question I have after reading the above article is whether the student(s) really harassed the teacher.
What do you think about this?
