The below story is troubling, but may have an innocent (though twisted) explanation.

To me, more information is needed. Was this a back door attempt by the teacher to teach the students that anti-Semitism is wrong and has historical precedents, such as the Holocaust? Perhaps, but if so, the teacher apparently displayed poor judgement in not signaling to the students that this was not his or her belief. It seems that several students took the thesis seriously and were offended.
In today's school climate, who knows what was going through the teacher's mind.
