Welcome to Bursting Sweden

Ayaan Hirsi Ali- A Somali (thankfully) in the US

Hat tip Gates of Vienna

As indicated above, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who is one of the most courageous women in the world-but not courageous enough to be recognized by Michelle Obama, the State Department or  John Heinz Kerry, is one of my personal heroes. Her presence in this country is great benefit to us after she was driven out of the Netherlands by Islamic radicals. Sweden, on the other hand, is apparently without any Ayaan Hirsi Alis.

I have said it before and will say it again. Immigration is a great plus for any country-if handled judiciously. Sweden, Norway, France and many other countries have lost control of the process. As a matter of fact, so have we. Importing poverty, illiteracy, criminals, and radical ideologies filled with hate makes no sense at all. Yet, it seems that the West is Hell-bent on self-destruction.

And please don't give me this crap about the color of the immigrants' skins. I have met too many African immigrants who bring professional skills and abilities to this country. They can always be accommodated and welcomed just as can immigrants from other parts of the world. But what is the sense of bringing in people willy-nilly who don't work and only add to the crime problem? The example of Sweden is an illustration of the complete failure of its government.

Somalia is a dysfunctional, primitive, and violence-ridden nation. That doesn't mean that we can't find people like Ali who are decent people. Yet, when you send literally hundreds of thousands of them into the West, it is a recipe for disaster.

With tight immigration control, your hero would never have made it out of Somalia. I can't recall the title, but there is a great memoir by one of the first African women to claim political asylum to escape imminent genital mutilation... she spent years in detention, always on the verge of being denied and sent back.

Your hero has a compelling story, but she's not too choosy about who she hooks up with in the west (politically), and she has an unfortunate tendency to generalize her experience in Somalia with all of Islam everywhere for all time.
