If he's from India, this might have some validity. They still have "debt bondage" which binds people from generation to generation, to debts that can never be fully paid by a lifetime of forced labor.
But, if that is the basis for a precedent, it should not be broadly worded. It should be very specific to debt slavery, not to anyone who took out a mortgage they couldn't afford to pay.
This dude is ID-ed in the article as Syrian. While connections to Saudi Arabia and Jordan are specified, none of the hijackers were from India that I know of, and there were no references to India in the article that I could see.
Accordingly, unless I am missing something (which is of course quite possible), an Indian reference is essentially and basically a non sequitur, no??
Siarlys--gotta remember your "if dog rabbit" principles. Said otherwise, "if" he is not from India, which does not seem to be the case, whatever "this" you are talking about would appear to have no validity at all.
