Here is the latest update on the actions of union goons in Michigan trying to stop the legislature and governor from enacting a right to work law in Michigan.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gary,
I thought you'd like to know the latest developments in Michigan's battle to become the 24th Right to Work state. You can read the message I just sent to our supporters in Michigan below.
Now that union militants are shutting down schools to protest worker freedom, their true colors are showing. It's all about protecting their forced-dues power at any cost.
Please spread the word by forwarding this email to like-minded friends in Michigan and encourage them to call their State Representative, and if you can, chip in with a contribution of $10 or more to support our programs.
Sincerely,
Mark Mix

Subject: Union militants shut down Michigan schools
Dear gary,
We told you Big Labor would employ every tactic imaginable to kill the Michigan Right to Work bills, set for a vote in the House later today.
Yesterday President Barack Obama, never shy about paying back his union-boss benefactors, parroted Big Labor's talking points and campaigned against the legislation.
And now teacher union militants have staged "sick-outs" across the state to flood Lansing with intimidating protests.
The extreme -- but unsurprising -- tactic has shut down schools, forcing parents to adjust their schedules, and costing the taxpayers.
The move echoes what happened last year in Wisconsin when the legislature passed a government-sector monopoly bargaining reform bill.
In fact, the only thing Wisconsin's and Michigan's legislation have in common is Right to Work.
That's what so enrages the union bosses -- protecting the freedom for individual workers to decide for themselves whether they want to join or financially support a union.
With Big Labor going all-out to kill the Right to Work bill, it's vital you take action right away.
When the unions pile on this much pressure, no vote should be taken for granted, so please call your State Representative at once.
Click here to look up the phone number for your State Representative.
Urge your State Representative to vote for Right to Work today.
Time is running out!
Sincerely,
Mark Mix

This will be repealed within three years. Republican legislators have showed their true colors. Americans are waking up to the totalitarian agenda of the GOP. (Note that this was a desperate, last-minute, LAME DUCK maneuver, although the next legislature will still have a - smaller - and perhaps more sensible, Republican majority.)
Siarlys,
How about some words against the thuggery going on in Michigan?
What thuggery?
Did I miss a story about Republican legislators being waylaid and "carded" on their way home for the holidays?
(Carded: an old Irish custom for dealing with randy landlords).
No, I didn't think so. What thuggery?
"What thuggery?', asks Siarlys.
I guess he didn't watch the video.
What video? You posted your usual over-used drama queen photo, with your usual caption.
You also posted a hyperactive fundraising letter. Hunting through the obscure links at the end of this letter, I found a link to a Fox News broadcast, in which the worst "thuggery" seems to be calling the governor a rat.
You consider a large number of citizens peacefully chanting in public, thuggery? Maybe somewhere several minutes into the broadcast someone broke a window or something, but its not exactly the dominant theme, if it is there.
So again I must ask, what thuggery?
You didn't see the union thug punching the conservative guy or the thugs ripping down the tent?
No Gary. Was it way at the end of the Fox News broadcast? I watched for a while, then it seemed they were moving into some long boring interview with the governor. Was it sometime after that?
What was the tent being used for? Who put it up? And who was "the conservative guy"? What had he been doing?
Someone whose father traveled on business in Europe in the 1990s said her father told her after visiting Bulgaria, "CNN could make a half time show at a football game look like a national uprising." Context is everything, single bytes are nothing. What if you had a five second video of Fred Goldman punching O.J. Simpson? Out of context, it could make Fred look like a Klansman who just hated black men, n'est-ce pas?
But maybe it was a bad thing. Was it the common intent of all participants? No, I didn't see it. Where do I find this horrifying scene?
