UC Berkeley to Give Scholarships to Illegal Aliens

What will they think of next?

I know that the money is being donated by a private foundation, but somewhere along the line, someone is getting screwed. For each one of these students, someone else will be denied admission.

I may appear cold-hearted here when we are talking about children brought here at an early age through no choice of their own, but if you are college age, somewhere along the line, shouldn't you have taken steps to legalize or normalize your status so you could do all these things and succeed in life in the US?

I find it interesting that Berkeley is giving scholarships to Klingons and Vulcans.

How about some scholarships to Americans?

To be sure Gary, just as soon as there IS a legal process to pursue. Once President Obama offered a process, the responsible young adults responded overwhelmingly, even paying significant fees to do so.

Until then, any inquiry about legalizing status would have drawn the response, "Oh, we didn't know about you, thank you for reporting for voluntary deportation."

If you didn't know that's how law enforcement works, you are a much more incompetent DEA veteran than I take you for. This leaves the high probability that you are indeed cold-hearted, willing to sacrifice innocent individual lives at the altar of political opportunism.

Wow. You should have tried out for the lead role in that new Lincoln movie. You might be getting an Oscar instead of DD Lewis.

Do you really believe that ICE-especially in the last 4 years of napolitano would have deported one who came forward under those circumstances and asked how can I regularize my status? First of all, they would have had the right to have their case heard by an immigration judge. I actually testified in one of those hearings in LA long ago.

You really should beware trying to sound like an expert on each and every topic.

Of course they would. Napolitano wouldn't even have heard most of their names. There is no process for children brought to this country illegally to regularize their status, unless one is provided for by law. A few might have gotten hearings... many while being held in custody. You've been ranting for years that no legal process should be provided... and now you have the nerve to admonish them for not having used a non-existant legal process that you opposed? You have some nerve.
