Senator Daniel Inouye
Hat tip Daily Caller
How timely that Daily Caller posted this report on Democrats' criticizing Senator Daniel Inouye for staying in the Senate too long.

The news is just breaking that Senator Inouye has died at 88. Senator Inouye, who lost an arm fighting for his country in WW 2, deserved better from his colleagues.
I did not always agree with Inouye in politics. Nevertheless, I always admired him as a true American hero.

This isn't even a tempest in a tea pot. Maybe a wavelet in a thimble. Are you and Daily Caller that desperate to drum up some "news."
A great man dies and Siarlys isn't impressed. I suppose his service to this nation during WW2 (won the Medal of Honor) and then his service as a Senator is nothing important.
Another member of the Greatest Generation is gone. Too soon for my liking.
The Daily Caller was not impressed with what a great man Inouye was. Its a scandal sheet looking for any opportunity to throw vague anonymous observations by unnamed persons around to create what I called it, a wavelet in a thimble.
Now if you had written a straightforward memorial to Senator Inouye, if you had given a more detailed description of how he won the Medal of Honor (as Rod Dreher at The American Conservative did), instead of being preoccupied with scoring one tenth of a brownie point over the man's grave, I might have been favorably impressed.
P.S. It is plausible that by the time he died, he had become a bit less effectual at performing his duties in the senate than he had been previously. I didn't find comments to that effect particularly out of line, especially since they were not offered as public memoriams to his entire career.
Siarlys,
In all honesty, I was not aware or had forgotten that Inouye had been awarded the Medal of Honor. What I recalled was that he had served heroically in WW 2 and had lost an arm.
