Obama: "We Need a Secretary of Business"

The Department of Business Hqs in Washington

(Hat tip to Albert Speer and his designs for a post-WW2 Berlin)

When did President Obama dream this up? Campaigning in the past few days, he says he would appoint a Secretary of Business.  Why didn't he think of that 4 years ago?  Just what we need-another layer of government.

But that is exactly what Mitt Romney has already said in response.

If you think that a Department of Business would be business friendly-think again. All you have to do is remember that the Dept of Labor is run by Hilda Solis-a big union supporter.

I can just envision the bureaucracy-not only the asst. deputy secretaries, regional directors, and asst regional directors, but the forms, fees, fines, the hiring regulations, and the reporting requirements leveled on business.

This is just another Obama scheme to take over business and free enterprise and put it all under government control.

We have a Department of Business it is known as the Department of Commerce.

What we need is a President who knows something about Economics and not Community Organizing.

I don't think its a scheme to do anything except appear to be broad-minded and reach out to the business community during a close election.

Its a foolish idea. We already have a Department of Commerce. If that can't handle an agenda of creating a climate to cultivate business, I doubt a second department could do so.

The Department of Labor is there to make sure that the cultivation of a favorable climate for business does not degenerate into finding ways to pay workers less and enrich a few plutocrats.
