Pretty good for a guy who never served in the military himself.
Remember Gary, that although Mitt's dad George Romney was a passionate and vocal supporter of the Vietnam War, neither Mitt nor his older brother George Scott Romney served even though both were of draft age.
Mitt Romney actually went off to Paris, France and received a missionary deferment.
And even though Mitt Romney himself was a supporter of the American led war against Iraq, not a single one of Mitt's five sons has ever served in the military.
Like Father like Sons I guess.
President Obama would just have to settle for the endorsement of Colin Powell, a Four Star General, who served multiple tours of duty and sustained injuries in Vietnam.
As a veteran yourself, how do you feel about Mitt Romney's lack of service yet wanting to be Commander in Chief Gary?
And what would you say to the homeless Vietnam vet who is begging for spare change on the streets, that America rewarded one who did not serve with a beautiful blonde wife, hundreds of millions of dollars, and perhaps the presidency and command of current military personnel?

I think we did this go around before. We already have a commander in chief who never served in Obama, remember?

Barack Obama was not old enough to be drafted in the Vietnam War, while Mitt Romney and his older brother were.
And unlike Mitt and his dad, Obama doesn't have a blood lust for war.
The Romney's love war; as long as they don't have to do any of the fighting.
Romney was hardly the only person, Democrat or Republican, politician or not, who received a religious deferment, or other deferment, for that matter. I would guess that Romney's sons came up after the draft and during the days of the all-volunteer military, as did Obama. All of them had the opportunity to enlist, none of them did. If you want to blast the sons, consistency dictates that you also blast Obama, which you have not done that I know of.
Powell's endorsement(s) of Obama are, at least to some of us, clearly somewhat racial, although not necessarily racist, in nature. Nothing wrong with that, any number of people vote for Obama based primarily if not exclusively on race, just as some whites vote only for whites.
P.S.--the wunnerful Bill Clinton did not serve either, as I recall, was an active draft dodger to boot, and he got to be CIC, no??
Yeah, yeah, Military officers for Romney balances all the military officers who took the stage at the Democratic National Convention, then there's Republicans for Obama, Democrats for Nixon/Reagan/Romney, People of Faith for Kerry/Edwards, Sportsmen for Green, etc. etc. etc.
It just goes to show, Americans are a diverse people, and while a majority of this, that, or the other may break for one or another candidate, plenty of others break the other way.

Regarding George Romney: His campaign for president in 1968 foundered when he turned against the war policy in Vietnam, and admitted the information he was provided on his tour of Vietnam was a "thorough brainwashing." The Liberal Media laughed at him, and he was through as a candidate. When it turned out he had spoken the truth, nobody remembered him as a prophetic voice, just as someone the press had laughed at.
If George Romney had been the Republican nominee in 1968, I met have spent the next thirty years as a Republican. Mittens isn't one tenth the man his father was.

Who says Mitt has a blood lust for war? Because he supports Israel? Mitt has not sent any troops into battle. Obama has (And I don't mean that to criticize. Just stating a fact.)
Well Mitt hasn't had a chance yet, and pray God he never will. Obama hasn't opened up any new long-term commitments.
But to be fair, I don't think Mittens has given any serious thought to what he would do if elected. He just wants to be president.
