Great Park Funding Investigation

This is a bit of overdue welcome news. Now that Boss Larry Agran  no longer controls a majority on the Irvine City Council, the new majority wants to investigate all that money that has gone into the so-called Great Park. As of this writing, the "Great Park" consists of a bandstand, a hot air balloon, and a big parking lot on part of what was the old El Toro Marine Base-now a habitat for gophers.

As you drive around Irvine, you will see signs every few blocks pointing you the Great Park-which you never find. All you will find is a large area strangely reminiscent of North Dakota. This after $200 million of spending into a dark hole. One would think at the minimum they could have planted a few trees and grass by now.
