It appears that Congress didn't get much clarified about Benghazi from the appearances today of Director of Intelligence James Clapper and acting CIA director Mike Morell.

".....neither Clapper nor Morell knew for sure who finalized that information. And they could not explain why they minimized the role of a regional Al Qaeda branch as well as the militant Ansar al-Sharia despite evidence of their involvement."
"Morell was pushed to explain why, during a Sept. 14 briefing, Petraeus seemed wedded to the explanation that the attack was in response to an anti-Islam video. Morell apparently said he wasn't at that briefing and had nothing further to add. "
Of course, when it comes to Clapper, this is hardly surprising. He is generally the last one to know anything. It seemed so simple. The State Department was watching the attack in real time. Intelligence sources were reporting within 24 hours that this was a terror attack. Can anyone explain why Susan Rice was pushing the video protest line on September 16?
Not those two guys.
Tomorrow we hear from David Petraeus.
