Chris Matthews the Constitutional Scholar

Hat tip Breitbart

“I don’t think he understands the Constitution of the United States…He’s the president of the United States. You don’t say, ‘you’ll get your chance.’”

The next Supreme Court justice perhaps?

Get a load of MSNBC's Chris Matthews weighing in on what's unconstitutional.

Well, when it comes to being deferential to the President, nobody beats Chrissie, if you get my drift. This is the guy who said when he hears Obama speak, he gets a thrill running up his leg (or was it down his leg?) This is the guy who said that one of Obama's speeches should be required reading in schools along with the Gettysburg Address. Not since Bill Veeck sent a midget up to pinch hit for the St Louis Browns in 1951 has anyone made such a mockery of his profession as Matthews.

"Chris Matthews, you've got a weak show."

Matthews is inarticulate as usual. Its an interesting conundrum as far as simple courtesy goes (not specified in the constitution) how you enter into a debate with someone who IS the President of the United States.

I bet you LOVED Daniel Moynihan at the United Nations telling some other delegate 'you will not talk about my president like that...' -- and he was serving under Richard Nixon.

Yes, you're trying to prove that he's an incompetent nincompoop who deserves to be tossed out, and that you are the man destined by God Almighty to set things straight...

...but for now, this IS the President of the United States.

OF coure, "you'll get your turn" is something ALL participants in any presidential debate ever held need to be told now and then.

Siarlys,

Of course, the President of the US is deserving of a modicum of respect due to his position.

But unconstitutional???

WE agree on that Gary. Nothing in the constitution mandates respect for the president. Diane Sawyer had to explain that to Hussein al-Takriti once. He seemed quite perplexed. But Matthews incoherence naturally leads to what really would apply, and how, and on what basis...
