Breaking: CIA Statement on Benghazi

Hat tip Weekly Standard and to Squid

This evening a CIA spokesman issued the below statement regarding the attack in Benghazi.

"No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. ”

That seems to narrow it down to the White House or Leon Panetta. According to the timeline previously published, President Obama and Panetta  were both meeting in the White House within an hour of learning of the attack.

In addition, Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, who was killed in the attack is now speaking very publicly about his son's death. According to the reports, his son actually defied orders not to respond to the consulate while it was under attack. He and others proceeded from the CIA annex to the consulate where they succeeded in rescuing at least one person though they could not locate Ambassador Stevens. Some 6-7 hours later, Woods and Glen Doherty reportedly died at the annex while firing at the attackers and pinning a laser on their (attackers) position for the benefit of the rescuers- who never came.

What transpired in that meeting in the Oval Office between President Obama and Leon Panetta?

In addition, Woods is also recounting what Joe Biden said to him at Andrews Air Force base when his son's coffin came home. According to Mr Woods, Biden, in a  loud and boisterous voice, asked him if his son "always had balls the size of cue balls."

Final point: You can point out that it is Fox News that is running with this whole Benghazi story. Today, I checked CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS. I cannot find anything on this from NBC. On the other websites, the story is pretty much buried with the exception of ABC. The mainstream media, for the most part, doesn't want to cover this awful story because they want Obama to win re-election.

Gary, when did you stop beating your wife?

P.S. If only Fox News is running this story, that probably means there is no substance to it.
