The Sporting Scene in LA

Bank robbery suspects toss cash from SUV as it's being chased by sheriff's deputies through L.A. streets Wednesday

Don't feel sorry for the folks in LA because they don't have an NFL team. Who needs the NFL when you have HSCs (high speed chases)?

Such was the case on a typical Wednesday when 5 men robbed a bank in the community of Santa Clarita. What ensued was the Car Chase of the Week as the robbers' SUV was followed by LA Sheriffs deputies, California Highway Patrol, LAPD, UCLA Campus Police, FBI, the A Team, the Ohio State Police, and volunteers from the Montana Militia. Police helicopters competed with news helicopters for air space. During the chase, a couple of the bad guys bailed out and ran off on foot.

As the suspects reached south central LA, they began throwing bundles of cash out the window. Finally, the vehicle was stopped and two of the bad guys were arrested as hundreds of curious people came running out of their offices and shops to see what was going on.

But don't take my word for it. Here is a report from the NY Daily News.
