Robert Nieves is a retired DEA agent who rose from street agent to the highest echelons of DEA Hqs. While I did not know Mr Nieves well, I did meet him on a  few occasions over the course of my own career in DEA. Mr Nieves has written the below op-ed for the Washington Times on the topic of Operation Fast and Furious, which is appearing in Monday's edition and in their online edition today. In this article, he describes the standard approval procedure for sensitive investigations within the Justice Department. Make no mistake: Operation Fast and Furious met every criteria for a sensitive investigation.

Comment: The inescapable conclusion here is that it goes against common sense and all logic to suggest that Eric Holder was not involved in the creation and monitoring of gun-walking in Fast and Furious. All that is left is for public awareness and outrage to reach the point where the Justice Department  and the Obama administration cannot get away with stonewalling any longer.

Perhaps S.O.P. was not followed?

Perhaps that is the real problem?

Oh, no, a large government agency would NEVER violate S.O.P. That NEVER happens.

The corollary to your "fine wine" reference is "something rotten in Denmark" and the longer it has to ferment the stronger the stench becomes. And the stench is emanating from many sources now. The chief source is the White House. People are becoming more and more suspicious of our government. Just look at what is being done to us. Obamacare, Global EPA, Our Sovereignty is being eroded, UN Gun Control that will supersede our Constitutional rights and the list goes on and on. What will be given away or decimated next?

If SOP was not followed, I don't see why an admission that SOP was not followed was not/is not forthcoming, accompanied by appropriate action relative to the non-SOP followers. That should/would have put this to bed in a hurry.

This kind of stuff is exactly what makes us paranoids believe (actually virtually know) that there is much more to thae equation that that.

Why elwood, what do you think Holder has been saying?

Weary, your knowledge of the real world is a factual Desert. I can't wait to have health insurance again in 2014 -- I'll have to pay the premium, but at least I can be insured again. There is no global EPA, but thank God for the EPA our elected representatives established. Our sovereignty is being eroded only in your paranoid imagination. Nothing can supercede our constitution without the approval of two thirds of both houses of congress and three fourths of the state legislatures. What HAS been given away... document, act, name, date, place, enacting authority... you sound like the John Birchers who were the laughingstock of my childhood.
