Eric Holder's Latest Charade-Leak Investigation

'I have every confidence in their abilities to doggedly follow the facts and the evidence in pursuit of justice'

This would be laughable if it were not so sad. Eric Holder's corrupt Justice Department says it is going to investigate the leaks allegedly coming out of the White House that concern our anti-terror operations.

Here is my prediction: Our ace investigators will go to the New York Times and ask the reporters who gave them the information. The Times will tell the investigators that they cannot and will not give up their sources, and that will be the end of it. After all, this administration respects freedom of the press-especially when that press is so friendly. They want to keep it that way before November.

Expect this case to be closed-not solved-quickly.

How can any politically-related investigation be credible when it is carried out by the Dept of Justice under Eric Holder? Only a truly-independent special prosecutor can be trusted here.

In addition, watch to see if the left demands answers into these leaks as it did during the Valerie Plame investigation, when everyone was so outraged that a CIA employee was outed. Even when it came out that State Department official Richard Armitage admitted that he was the one, Scooter Libby was still prosecuted and convicted as others demanded the prosecution of Dick Cheney.

Do not expect a reliable and valid investigation of the leaks from the Obama Administration who most likely leaked the computer virus that hit the Iran nuke sites and the intel on the poor Doctor who outed UBL. To stem the tide of evidence, Eric Holder was quick to appoint "an independent" (do not make me laugh) investigation on the issue.
We are still waiting for the results of the DOJ investigation on F&F, for over a year and Holder has not yet released the 80, 000 emails requested by Congress. Do not expect any results on this investigation because this is having the "fox guard the chickens?" Independent investigation my back-side.

Gary--I agree wholeheartedly. Why would we expect this bunch to do anything other than appoint Presidential political appointees to "investigate" the improper leaks of very sensitive national security info by what are, or almost certainly are, other Presidential political appointees. Squid hit it on foxes and henhouses.

While Machen is an Obama appointee, I am aware that Rosenstein is a George W. Bush holdover, that he worked for Ken Starr, and that he prosecuted the McDougals and Jim Guy Tucker, all of which is already being used by libs/Dems to indicate/demonstrate that he is a stone conservative. That was his job, however, and doing his job at any given time is not necessarily any measure of his real deology. It should tell us something that out of (I believe) 93 U.S. Attorneys, only three (3) kept their jobs under Obama. Recall that George H. W. Bush appointed SCOTUS justice Souter, who ended up usually voting with the liberal wing of the court. Also remember “Jumpin” Jim Jeffords, Michael Bloomberg, and Arlen Specter, among others. Sheep in wolves’ clothing?? Mistakes are made.

Finally, it appears that Obama appointed the separate U.S. Attorneys of the districts where the FBI had already opened separate investigations into these matters. He could hardly get by with using a U.S. Attorney in one case and not in the other, in which instance he either had to appoint someone other than U.S. Attorneys or appoint Rosenstein whether he wanted to or not. Probably at least a fair chance Rosenstein is already sympathetic, even indebted, to him anyway.

Will be interesting to see what happens in any event, I won’t be betting that we hear anything definitive at all, and certainly not before the election.

What is needed is a special prosecutor.
