One Fine Day in Chicago

As we speak, Chicago cops are battling thousands of protesters and anarchists at the NATO summit. I am following it on CNN live as police are attempting unsuccessfully to disperse a crowd. And yes, the obligatory Palestinian flag is raised right in the middle of the crowd. Bottles and barricades are being hurled at the police, some of  whom are getting in a little "stick time" (as we used to say in the MPs). Don Lemon at CNN is shocked-shocked at the police pummeling the demonstrators.

Meanwhile 10-15 people in their late teens or early 20s attacked dining patrons with bats and hammers in a South suburban restaurant. Huffington Post has a report from local Chicago news.

Here is Reuters' report:

Meanwhile at Wrigley Field......

the White Sox were getting in some "stick time" beating the Cubs 6-0.

We didn't even try to go downtown today. Spent the day at Brookfield Zoo. Took a picnic lunch with us, bought our drinks there and enjoyed the day.

After the kids grow up they still like going to the zoo.
