Tucker Carlson (who often wears a bow tie), the editor of Daily Caller and a conservative appeared on Megan Kelly's show on Fox today with Democrat strategist Jehmu Greene. They were discussing Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard professor running for the Senate in Massachusetts who is proudly listed in Harvard diversity statements as an America Indian. She is 1/32 Indian: I lost count of the "greats" in her lineage.) During the discussion about affirmative action, Greene referred to Carlson and his crowd as "Bow Tie N' white boys". Here is the video.
You see? You see? Don't let anybody tell you there isn't racism in America. To make things worse, she immediately denies she called Carlson any names. Greene should clearly apologize for the slur.

Well Findalis, they've had some experience with it. The same could be said for Jews until fifty years ago.
When asked to check forms regarding race, I always check off European, African, and Native American descent. Technically that's true. Culturally, I was raised with all the life advantages of being "white." I could claim some Jewish blood too, if that were handled like "Hispanic" on the census forms. I was raised Protestant, although my doubts about the Trinity may be hereditary.
Racism today is at about the level of Chicago's competing ethnic ghettoes of the early 20th century. If you're Polish in an Italian neighborhood, you may get a rock thrown at the back of your head. Cf. Mike Royko. None of it compares to institutionalized, culturally dominant, government sanctioned, categorical exclusion. Its bad, but not intractable.

Siarlys--I hope you are not attempting to say that we here in the U.S. have made no gains in matters racial in 100 years?? Or did I miss something??
You missed a great deal elwood. I said that we HAD made great progress, from "institutionalized, culturally dominant, government sanctioned, categorical exclusion" to a rough level of on and off ethnic rivalry on a more spontaneous level. That's a lot of ground to cover.
Gary, I've done very well in academia for a guy with a high school diploma and no bachelor's degree, but Harvard has a large pool of unemployed Ph.D's to choose from. Anyway, I'm too good for Harvard.

My "generalization" that you call it is based on facts. It is not racist to point out facts.
It's based on facts? Please provide some evidence that black people "lead the pack" when it comes to racism and that blacks are such "racists and anti-Semites".
Evidence, not a few anecdotes and isolated examples. Either do that or admit that your generalizations are based on nothing more than your own prejudices.

As for the mobs can we start with the Crown Heights Riots, Freddie's Fashion Mart Massacre, LA riots over Rodney King, the mobs who attacked white people outside the Wisconsin State Fair, The mobs that have been attacking in the name of Trayvon Martin. I could go on Siarlys.
