Hat tip PJ Media
“Far from reflecting a ‘cover-up,’ as some have claimed, the lack of documents makes clear that these tactics had their origin in the field in Arizona and not among Department leaders in Washington,” Cole wrote.
Bob Owens, writing in PJ Media, reports on another big lie coming out of the Department of Justice on the ATF Fast and Furious scandal. This time it comes from Dep. AG James Cole, who states that the reason so few documents have come forth showing Washington involvement in the Phoenix-based operation is that it shows it was just that- a Phoenix-based operation.

Perhaps, Mr Cole is referring to (or forgetting about) the 80,000 documents still in the hands of the DOJ Inspector General, which have not been released to Congress.
At any rate, here is why Cole is lying: Had this operation been solely an ATF Phoenix-based operation, with no DOJ involvement, surely, DOJ and its Inspector General office would have easily answered the simple question- who dreamed up and put this operation in motion? That this question has not been answered by DOJ can only reinforce the belief that it originated in Washington-by the very people who are now stonewalling Congress.
