The NATO protests in Chicago a few days ago resulted in the stabbing of a cop-the latest outrage in the wave of lawlessness experienced by our cities over the past year. Is it not now time for our elected leaders (like President Obama) to speak out and condemn this behavior? After all, he was there.

The only comment I have heard from the president in reaction to the Occupy protests has been, "I can empathize with that." As for Nancy Pelosi, she has made two statements I am aware of:
"I support (Occupy) when they speak truth to power."
"God bless them."
Over the past year, we have seen violence, sexual assaults, riots, vandalized businesses, squatters, anti-Semitic statements, arrests, and now a cop stabbed.
The reason Obama and the Democrats have not spoken out is they don't want to alienate people whose votes they expect to have in November.
C'mon, Mr President. A Chicago police officer was stabbed protecting you. Say something.

Of course, the President won't condemn the occupy people ... They are his constituency!! They are the ones communicating how bad the Capitalist System is and they are not going to take it anymore !
It seems there is violence in several places simultaneously or when there is an international event where they can embarrass thE US by going on rampages and breaking the windows of the hated local Starbucks or Bank of America.
There wasn't a single stabbing of a police officer or anyone else in all the Tea Party rallies. Yet they were condemned and vilified by the Left.
Guess what? They are the ones who are going to win the next election, just like the sweep in 2010. The left has had their chance to run things and we see what a mess they have made.
And those Occupy People? If they go on another destructive rampage next year, they will be occupying a 6 x 10 cell, where they should be now.
You know, a little while back I heard a lot about all the violence and racism at Tea Party gatherings.
I may be on that particular cloud, but I sure do not recall seeing, for example, any posters of crosshairs on Obama with a bleeding bullet hole in his forehead, as was frequently the case with Bush when he was running. May have been present, but I sure managed to miss it.
