Is This a Hate Crime?

Hat tip Opposing Views

A simple question here: Is the below story a hate crime? Is it a violation of someone's civil rights, based on race? Watch the two local news reports and note how they sugarcoat this issue.

Of course, the big question here is whether Eric Holder's Justice Dept. will get involved in this case. I'm betting they will not.

It certainly seems to be a hate crime. I am unable to view both videos, but I saw one last night. Much like the Treyvon Martin case, there seems to be a lot of unanswered questions. It needs to be investigated before we jump to conclusions. (Perhaps the other video reveals info that I have not yet heard though.)

"sticks and stones(and paint cans, fists, metal pipes) may break my bones, but words may never harm me", unless spoken to persons who are violent, sociopaths.
The latest state sponsored politically correct fad is bullying and incivility towards others. From the news clip, it seems the right to free speech, even if words are unpleasant, is suspended if the speech is directed at "disenfranchised persons" .
So, I must conclude that it is wrong to express an opinion in the heat of the moment, but justified to nearly beat a man to death if he is not disenfranchised. Wow! For a minute, I thought this incident happened in the city o Fullerton.
